On the 19th of June 2026 has been held in Olomouc (CZ) the TRANSPAN early career investigators’ workshop: Bridging Basic and Clinical Research in Pancreatic Cancer biomarkers
The workshop brought together young researchers and experienced mentors from different disciplines involved in pancreatic cancer research and care. The innovative concept, built around a real patient journey, provided a highly interactive framework that successfully connected clinical decision-making with pathology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and tumor heterogeneity research.
The multidisciplinary discussions were lively and productive, highlighting the importance of sample quality, translational research, and collaboration across specialties. Participants appreciated the opportunity to exchange ideas in an open and supportive environment, and the workshop generated several consensus points that will serve as the basis for a future position paper.
Overall, the meeting was a great success and provided a valuable platform for fostering collaboration and strengthening the bridge between basic and clinical research in pancreatic cancer.
