The Fourth Plenary Meeting of TRANSPAN was hosted this year at the War Museum Amphitheatre of Athens, Greece

March 25, 2026

The Fourth Plenary Meeting of the COST Action CA21116 TRANSPAN was held on 19–20 March 2026 at the Amphitheater of the War Museum in Athens, Greece.
The meeting brought together TRANSPAN members for two days of intensive exchange, beginning with updates from the four Working Groups on their achievements in relation to the objectives and deliverables defined in the Memorandum of Understanding. In addition, dedicated sessions addressed key activities of the Action, including training schools, webinars, short-term scientific missions (STSMs), workshops, science communication, and future plans beyond the official duration of the Action.
A central highlight of the meeting was the interaction with patients associations fostering meaningful dialogue on collaboration and societal impact. This session, together with the broader discussions on outreach and future strategy, reinforced the importance of aligning scientific progress with patient needs and perspectives.
Overall, the meeting provided an important platform to review progress, strengthen collaboration across working groups and task forces, and define the next steps for TRANSPAN, with a continued shared commitment to improving outcomes in pancreatic cancer.

Intensive discussion took place to establish a plan for the continuation of TRANSPAN after the official end of the COST action in October 2026

We would like to thanks Maria Gazouli and George Iordanidis for the wonderful organization of all the events.

Thank you TRANSPANERS!
